Jared Smith was born in London, England and was converted to Christ at the age of eight. After surrendering to full time ministry in 1995, he trained under the private tutelage of several senior mentors including Dr. Kenneth Connolly, Dr. Jack Hoad and Dr. Charles Ryrie. Upon his ordination to the Gospel Ministry in 1999, he became pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church, Kensington Place, London.

Bethesda was established in 1866 by baptized believers who subscribed to Strict (Close) Communion and Particular Redemption. These doctrines continue to distinguish a group of Baptists whose witness predates the ‘Reformers’. With the support of several Baptist brethren, Jared helped to establish The Association of Historic Baptists, an affiliation of worldwide Christians affirming these historic values.
